About

Sharon Broit’s painting practice is a layered exploration of memory, sensuality, and time. Each canvas begins with a gesture and evolves through an intuitive process of adding, subtracting, and revealing. Using washes, brushwork, and breath, she creates surfaces that evoke the textures of textiles and the richness of lived experience. Color, light, and movement guide Sharon’s compositions, allowing each painting to unfold as a record of emotion and presence. She is drawn to what is both intimate and bold, quiet and provocative, finding beauty in the tension between what is seen and what is remembered.

Sharon approaches painting as a process of excavation, where layers build and dissolve, preserving fragments of what came before. By eliminating the superfluous and allowing history to emerge, she creates works that feel both grounded and alive. Each painting becomes a visual tapestry connecting body, memory, and time.

In addition to her studio practice, Sharon co-founded Sharon London Designs, a sustainable fashion line that reflects the same values. Working with natural fibers and handcrafted techniques, the line offers wearable pieces rooted in art, history, and individuality. Whether in paint or in cloth, her work seeks to honor the past while creating space for the present.
